Rayna Vasileva participant in the Masterclass of Christiane Karam – vocal coach at Berklee College of Music

On January 12 and 13 at the “Artistic Muzarto Academy” in Sofia, once again, the Masterclass of Christiane Karam, vocal coach at the Berklee College of Music took place.

About 20 young people traveling from different parts of Bulgaria and the world attended the event. The Masterclass included improvisation exercises based on famous jazz standards such as: “Fly me to the moon”, there also were “circle singing”, through which each participant had the opportunity to compose his own work, at the moment, to create their own voices, rhythm and improvise, surrounded by talented musicians and many more interesting and fun challenges created by the unique Christiane.

Each of the performers was given special attention and each received advice and recommendations from Christiane and the other participants about the things he did well and the things he needs to work on in the future.

“I have no words to describe what happened when Christiane made me stand in the center of the circle and had to invent voices and rhythm, at the moment. I was so scared, so many thoughts went through my head, I had no idea I could to do it, but when I forgot about everything, the music just came, it turned out really beautiful and it made me believe that nothing is impossible, as long as you do not set boundaries.”, said Raina after the Masterclass.

The event was truly inspiring, motivating, magical and definitely an unforgettable experience for all present. One thing is for sure – it will by no means be the last.
